Laptops are the modern equivalent to the ‘Hot Hatch’ cars from the 1990s. Most are pretty dismal, but there are a few that hit the sweet spot perfectly. The new Razer Blade Stealth 13 is one of the good ones – a perfect blend of size and strength for everyday use and powerful gaming on-the-go. The ‘Ultrabook’ as Razer calls it.
Well built and equally well equipped 13-inch laptops are the Swiss Army Knives of the portable computing world. The perfect size to carry anywhere – whether it’s in a backpack or under the seat on your Vespa. But the Razer Blade Stealth 13 is too good looking to stick in a bag. This is a computer-bauble that you want to display.
Crisp Graphics
Let’s get down to it – this is the #1 priority for anyone considering the Razer Blade Stealth 13.
The new Razer Blade Stealth 13 has been upgraded to the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Gamers will thoroughly enjoy games like Overwatch, Fortnite, World of Warcraft, CS:GO and similar titles at 1920 x 1080 in medium to high range settings with superb frame rates.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Ti card is built with breakthrough graphics performance that’s up to 2.5x the old GeForce GTX 950M and up to 80% faster than the previous model GTX 1050, enabling the Razer Blade Stealth 13 to be the ultimate gaming Ultrabook on the go.
The massive improvement in the graphics card capability helps provide maximum performance and battery life when users need it most thanks to the NVIDIA Optimus tech.
Processor Grunt
The Razer Blade Stealth 13 includes the Ice Lake Quad-Core 10th Gen Intel Core processor that’s powered up at 25W to ensure you get the performance you need when you need it. The quad-core 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor provides Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz .
Built to Work Hard and Look Good
Like its far more expensive cohort, the unibody frame of the Razer Blade Stealth 13 is fortified using precision machining of very high-grade aluminum. The stunningly cool matte black colour is electro chemically anodized deeper into the aluminum maximum durability whilst minimising wear and tear. This solid construction gives the laptop its remarkably strong exterior that prevents unnecessary flex. The ultra-sleek finish and thin form factor adapts perfectly to any situation.
The back-lighting on the keyboard (a signature of Razer laptops) is stunning, but as we found it can eat into battery longevity. It’s just as easy to hit FN + F10 and turn it off when every volt counts.
Battery Life
The Razer Blade Stealth 13 is faster and more power efficient with the latest Intel Core i7 processor. The included 53.1Wh battery fuels up to 9 hours of battery life for full-day mobility. Additionally, the laptop can be charged almost anywhere with the compact 65W/100W USB-C charger.
Key Features
OS: Windows 10
Display: 13.3″ FHD Matte (1920 x 1080) 120Hz, 100% sRGB, 4.9mm slim side bezels, individually factory calibrated
Processor: Quad-Core 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1065G7 Processor with Hyper Threading 1.3 GHz / 3.9 GHz (Base/Turbo) 25W
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6 VRAM with Max-Q Design
Would we buy one? Yes, we would. The main reason is the compact form-factor (it’s 15.3mm high) and only weighs 1.4kg. The ~9-hour battery life is another very attractive feature. We’d also buy one just for the extremely cool lime-green packaging.
The other reason is that this laptop will last for years and go on providing high performance and reliability for all your computing needs from dawn until well after dusk.
