Review: JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One – A Sleek Performer

The soundbar market is a pretty saturated one. Tap the soundbar section of your favourite electronics retailer’s website and you will see dozens of options. All-in-one units. Wireless units. 5-Channel Surround units. Dolby Atmos this. DTS that.

Sometimes all you really need is sound that’s better than you get from a smart speaker or smaller portable speakers.

This is where the JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One soundbar finds itself with a lovely little niche in the market.

Retailing at around $275, the JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One is just the right size to sit on a shelf or on the wall with a minimum of fuss, providing a great sound that will certainly fill the room.

Measuring 61cm x 9cm x 6cm the JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One is compact and very light – weighing only 1.6kg.

We installed the unit in the main bathroom as the kids love to blast a bit of Drake whilst they’re in the shower. The acoustics of a bathroom are way better than you might imagine. Why don’t more people put music in the bathroom?

The JBL Bar 2.0 comes with a remote control meaning you can control the volume and input source. Speaking of inputs, there are connections for optical audio, HDMI, USB 2.0, and multiple Bluetooth devices.

With a maximum output of 80W across a 70Hz to 20KHz range, the sound is full and crisp. The virtual surround effect on TV mode is very effective giving a far wider sense of sound when watching your favourite action movie.

If you’re looking for big sound in any room without the complexity of other soundbars, the JBL Bar 2.0 All-in-One is for you.

Available direct from JBL or from Amazon.
