Review: Ring Indoor Cam – Discreet Peace of Mind

We’ve been big fans of the Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus since we installed it a few months ago. Since then we’ve been adding to the Ring network in the house with the Indoor Cam and the Ring Protect Plan.

The Indoor Cam is the tiny but mighty HD camera that is perfect to place inside the home to keep an eye on things like pets and kids when you’re not home.

The fully integrated Indoor Cam is packed with features in a form-factor that will fit on any bookshelf or can be wall-mounted precisely where you need it.

Key Features

  • 1080p HD video
  • Two Way Communications
  • Motion Activation
  • Simple Installation
  • Snapshot Image Capture

Available in black or white, the Indoor Cam is powered via a USB to Micro-USB cable which provides 24×7 power.

The other great feature of the Ring Indoor Cam is the ability to connect it with other Ring devices via one of the Ring Protect Plans. This allows the Indoor Cam to the triggered based on an action from another Ring device – for example, start recording when someone rings the Video Doorbell 3 Plus.

All the connectivity is brought together with the Ring app where each device can be managed and triggered based on the new ‘Modes’ feature where you can configure exactly what your Ring devices do when you set your status to Disarmed, Home, or Away.

The Indoor Cam also works perfectly with Alexa (sadly not with Google Home…yet).

The Ring Indoor Cam is $99 from Ring or Amazon.

Ring Protect Plans

Super easy to set-up and with a 30 day trial of Ring Protect Plus which begins when you first set up your Ring Doorbell, Camera, or Alarm. It’s worth checking around to see if retailers offer longer trial periods.
