Review: D-Link Full HD WiFi Camera – Intelligent Peace of Mind

The team at D-Link continue to impress with the release of their Full HD Indoor WiFi Camera. Your family’s peace of mind and the security of what you love most are now available in Full HD 1080p resolution. In addition, built-in Artificial Intelligence (AI) based person detection can alert you to security issues and store the vision in the Cloud thanks to the mydlink App.

One of the most appealing aspects to the D-Link cameras is they are super easy to unbox and get working. The Full HD WiFi Camera comes with two other items in the box: a micro-USB cable and the power adapter. That’s it.

Power it up and thanks to the mydlink App it’s added to the house and ready for action.

With the addition of AI-based person detection, this very intelligent camera can identify human motion, minimising false alarms and ensuring that you only get the alerts that matter. Not only does it capture video in Full HD 1080p with a 120º field of view, but it also features 360º adjustable positioning and 5 metres of night vision so that users see everything, even in the dark. The night vision is great for indoor use but doesn’t work so well behind glass. The mounting base also allows super easy wall or ceiling mounting.

The latest version of the mydlink App includes Smart Bluetooth Setup and the ability to turn on or off multiple devices and automation rules at once with “Scenes” which greatly improve the usability and set-and-forget applications. The mydlink app also features a simplified setup wizard, clear device controls, scheduling and intuitive automation and a simple, easy-to-view timeline for videos and events. The mydlink App also allows two-way audio control and access to the built-in siren.

With mydlink Cloud Recording, you can save all your clips to the cloud and view them anywhere, anytime. Plans range from Free to Pro with the number of cameras and event recording increasing as you go up the scale.

Recordings can also be stored locally on the Camera via the microSD card slot (max capacity 256GB).

Additional features include support for WPA3™, the very latest in W-Fi security technology, Google Assistant and Alexa compatibility, plus support for ONVIF Profile S. Quick and easy setup is ensured with its built-in Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) technology, and support for IPv6 means that the Full HD WiFi Camera is compatible with the next generation of Internet standards.

As you would expect, D-Link considers user privacy to be a top priority and as such mydlink Cloud is TRUSTe privacy certified in six languages, making it compliant with global regulatory standards and privacy policies.

The D-Link Full HD WiFi Camera (SKU: DCS-8300LHV2) is available now from www.dlink.com.au (RRP AUD$129.95) and from all authorised D-Link Partners and Retailers in both countries.
