Introduction

The product, manufactured by Amazon was first released on May 12, 2021. It comes with a smart display and a 2MP camera. This device uses Amazon’s digital assistant — Alexa for interactions and voice controls. Its features are almost similar to the former model, just some slight differences. It is very portable to use anywhere and anytime. The physical difference between this device and its former model is that the 3.5mm audio output present in the latter is absent in the former. There is now a port for the power adapter and USB. You cannot use a cable to connect to a speaker, you can only connect wirelessly with the use of Bluetooth.

First Impression

It comes with a 2MP front-facing camera, replacing the 1MP sensor in the previous model. As said earlier, it uses Alexa for voice controls. Just like with Google Assistant, you can ask for the weather, news update, schedules, and other general information. You can use the it’s camera to monitor your home from the comfort of anywhere you are. With this device, you can get access to music from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Audible and Sirius XM. The product comes with a 5.5-inch touch screen which is approximately enough for a smart display. It is best to place it on your nightstand so that Alexa can help you kickstart your day efficiently. You can monitor your home from anywhere you are courtesy of the 2MP camera connected to your smart device. You can just say “Alexa, show me the front door”. You can also make hands-free video calls with ease to family and friends who have the Alexa app or an Echo device. You can schedule your routine since it is paired with compatible lights. For instance, you walking into a room can trigger the switching on of the light. All these are achieved with just your voice. 

You can put your photos on smart display courtesy of Amazonphotos. Your photos are displayed as a slideshow with other home screen content. With this device, be rest assured that your privacy cannot be breached. This is because it has special features that help protect your privacy. Features like mic/camera off, built-in camera shutter, and the ability to delete your recordings.

It also comes in different colours — Charcoal, Deep Sea Blue, and Glacier white.
