Every day, more than half of us spend over six hours sitting, and the impact is greater than we may think. Sitting has both short and long-term health and bodily repercussions, making this seemingly harmless action potentially lethal. It is recommended that we alternate between sitting and standing on a regular basis, with research indicating that one hour of standing should be spent for every three hours of sitting. What can we do to fix this if we work from home and on the computer all day? Let’s find out. . .
Health Come First
It seems like a greater amount of people today, are interested in finding ways to outfit their workspaces with some kind of motorized desk that allows them to transition from one posture to another. A desk that can do this throughout the day without disturbing their workload, as flexible working continues to become the standard. It will not only increase productivity, but it’s also far better for your health.
When we move throughout the day, our muscles release chemicals like lipoprotein lipase, which aid in the digestion of fats and sugars. According to studies, when you spend the majority of your day sitting, the release of these lipoproteins is reduced. Even if you exercise, you’re more likely to develop metabolic syndrome. Unsurprisingly, males who spent more time sitting than normal accumulated extra weight around the middle, which is the most harmful region to store fat. Also, by sitting for long periods, you’re not relying on your powerful lower body muscles (the legs) to keep you upright if you sit all day. Muscle atrophy, or the weakening of these muscles, is the outcome of this. Your body is at risk of damage if you don’t have strong leg and glute muscles to stabilize you.
The mental impacts of sitting are less well understood than some of the physical effects. However, those who sit the most are more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety. This could be due to the lack of mental health advantages of exercise when people spend their days sitting rather than moving. Over time, evidence of the negative consequences of sitting for long periods of time has accumulated to the point that sit-standing desks, previously thought to be a bizarre work practice, are now thought to be critical in helping us live longer, healthier lives, especially when working from home.
Easily Assembly Together
A standing table, unlike a standard desk, can be adjusted to fit a number of different postures. The Vari Electric Standing Desk makes it easy to switch from sitting to standing and vice versa in seconds. The simple-to-assemble desk will help you become more productive while also making you feel better throughout the day.
The desk was delivered in two pieces. The legs and top were well-secured, protected, and in excellent shape when we opened the boxes. The desk was in the first box, and the following items were in the second:
Controller
Instructions
Power cable
Allen wrenches and bolts
6 x Cable management straps
Hook-and-loop cable wraps
2 hooks that clamp to the edge (to hang bags or accessories from)
Desk coaster made from silicone
The Vari Electric Standing Desk’s biggest feature, in my opinion, is how easy it was to assemble. The product was surprisingly simple to put together thanks to its innovative quick-attach technology. We spent just 20 minutes putting everything together. Of the many pieces of furniture I own, The Vari Standing desk was by far the most straightforward to put together – certainly faster than other standing desks.
Personal Thoughts About the Vari Standing Desk
There’s no doubt it’s an attractive and sturdy electric standing desk. It comes in different reclaimed wood finishes which gives it enough texture to make it a warm furniture piece or in all white (like the one I have). It is also laminated for extra durability and cleanliness. The top was thicker than the other models I’ve tried – it just looked and felt more robust.
When it comes to standing desks, you have to carefully consider what you would require. First and foremost, you’ll need a wide range of heights to accommodate different postures and to accommodate everyone who might use the table, from youngsters to adults. Being able to raise or lower the desk by simply pressing a button on the LED control unit means you don’t have to fumble around physically adjusting each leg of the desk. You can also pre-program the buttons with a single touch for each saved point or pressing and holding until it reaches your desired height. The transition between heights was very quick – taking only a couple of seconds at max. The motors are very quiet and precise!
The Standing desk surface can be adjusted in height from 25″ (63.5 cm) to 50.5″ (128 cm) high. The Vari standing desk is very stable, even for taller users; many other tables will begin to wobble and seem unstable when at full height. Trying to start typing or writing on these sorts of standing desks is not only detrimental to your productivity, but it can lead to damage of very expensive pieces of technology on the desk if it were to fall. The Vari Standing Desk has 3 variations of size, the smallest will support up to 200 lbs and the largest will support up to 220 lbs. So, you never need to worry about sturdiness.
I worked on the Vari Standing Desk for a significant period of time to get an idea of how functional it was throughout my working day. Usually, I would sit at my desk and only take breaks here and there to stand, while going to the bathroom, for example. However, the usage was now reversed, and I found myself standing most of the time and only occasionally sitting down if I wanted a break.
Final Thoughts
Each Vari Electric Standing Desk comes in different price points depending on the selected size. This model 48×30 comes in at around $695 and is not only one of the best-looking standing desks, but it’s also one of the easiest to assemble. It also comes with some great accoutrements and is definitely well worth the price.
I required a workstation that could change height rapidly so that I didn’t have to stop and adjust the height continuously while taking a call or doing an important task. The desk’s upwards and downwards motion was smooth and steady. At its highest point, it still feels sturdy, especially when compared to other models. I was also concerned about whether the sit-stand mechanism would begin to lag or whether any other issues would arise after prolonged use. The Vari Desk doesn’t disappoint here either.
If I were to construct a model home office, I would certainly choose the Vari Electric Standing Desk to be the focal point. It seems perfect for business owners and entrepreneurs who seek long-lasting, high-quality items. I recommend investing in an Electric Standing Desk from Vari if you want to make your workstation more comfortable, adjustable, and productive.
